Tone is measured by evaluating the overall tone of the article toward Bush
For George Bush, is the story as a whole (including visuals)
1 Extremely unfavourable (e.g. corruption, incompetence)
2 unfavourable (e.g. problems, style)
3 mixed/both favourable and unfavourable
4 favorable (e.g. success, acheivement, etc.)
5 extremely favorable (e.g. major accomplishment)
8 neutral
Or coding each sentence as either:
Favorable, Not favorable, mixed/neutral
Count number of favorable, not favorable, mixed
